Hubballi-Dharwad Police Busts Major Illegal Liquor and Gambling Racket, 7 Arrested

Dharwad, Karnataka: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, the Hubballi-Dharwad Police arrested seven individuals on Friday. The raids were conducted by the CCB police. The police arrested a person for carrying liquor illegally who was intending to sell it near Nivedita School near Ramnagar in Dharwad. The police seized 91.32 liters of liquor worth Rs 35,616 and a vehicle used in the crime, valued at Rs. 30,000.  A case has been registered against the accused at Dharwad Town Police Station.

Gambling Den Raided:

In another operation, the CCB team raided a gambling den in Saptapura, Dharwad. Six individuals were arrested during the raid. The police confiscated cash worth Rs. 38,820 and other gambling paraphernalia from the scene. A case has been registered against the accused at Dharwad Sub Urban Police Station.

Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar hailed the CCB team for their efforts. And she said that the raids to curb the illegal activities would continue in the coming days also.
